OCDChinatown

Advent by Sam Roeck, November 7 - October 3.hours are Saturdays and Sundays from 12 to 6pm, and by appointment.

Working between fine art, product design and performance, Roeck's practice evokes a myriad of Americanized mythologies and personalities — from new age mysticism to pop art and consumer consciousness.

Sam Roeck is a visual artist and performer. His work has been exhibited at White Columns, 356 Mission, Josée Bienvenu Gallery, Elizabeth Dee Gallery, The Guggenheim Museum, The Times Square Arts Center, MoMA PS1, and Situations. As a performer he has appeared in work by Rebecca Patek, Kim Brandt, Liz Santoro, and Ryan McNamara. He received an BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art and an MFA from Hunter College. He lives and works in New York.

ADVENT is comprised of Sam Roeck’s new works on paper and sculpture. It runs from September 7th to October 3rd, 2018.

OCDChinatown is a clubhouse for performance, sound, word, film, fashion, and most of all kunst. It is a set, a screen, an informal testing ground for new work; it’s a house of prayer, a museum, a workshop. It is a space for new and unorthodox artists, located in a Chinatown mall. OCDChinatown was launched earlier this year, and collaborations so far have included Lord of Beef, Eckhaus Latta, and Michel Auder.
